Services
Glass Act Productions, LLC., offers the following services:
- Clear Glass Cutting
- We custom cut flat glass for anything from thin windows to thick table tops. Maximum size varies with glass thickness. Most clear glass can be tempered.
- Mirror Cutting
- We stock 1/8" and 1/4" thick mirrors. A 1/8" mirror is typically used in framed applications. A 1/4" mirror is used in most other applications. Mirrors cannot be tempered.
- Obscure Glass
- Obscure glass is typically used for its aesthetic value and to provide privacy. These products come in a wide selection of textures in varying thickness. Many obscure glass products can be tempered.
- Laminated Glass
- Laminated glass is two or more layers of glass fused together with a plastic interlayer. Laminated glass is considered a safety glazing material. We stock 1/4" thick clear and 1/4" white/opaque laminated glass.
- Restoration Glass and Mirror
- Restoration (antique) glass is made using the same hand-blown technique used hundreds of years ago. Sheet size varies but the maximum size is about 30" x 40". A restoration mirror is new mirror that has been distressed during manufacturing to give the appearance of age. We stock a 1/4" thick "French antique" restoration mirror in sizes up to 48" x 100".
- Edge Polishing
- Edge polishing is the process of grinding the edge of glass sheet to a desired shape and finish. We produce pencil edge and flat edge profiles on most of the products we sell. We are also capable of Ogee and Waterfall edge profiles on 3/8" and 1/2" glass. Edgework is recommended on all exposed edges of glass that is 1/4" thick or greater.
- Glass Beveling
- Beveling is the process of edge finishing flat glass to a bevel angle. We can produce a straight beveled edge up to 1 1/2" wide on most glass that is 3/16" or thicker. Beveled edges are typically used on wall mirrors, table top glass, and cabinet doors.
- Shape Edgework
- Beveling and edge polishing are possible on pieces with smooth curves. Pieces must be a minimum of 6" x 6"and the minimum inside or outside curve radius must be at least 3". Full size cardboard or plywood patterns are required for most shapes.
- Holes
- Holes of many sizes and shapes can be drilled in most of the products we sell. Our two-headed vertical drilling machine produces clean and accurate holes with ease. We can saw between a series of holes to produce semi-rectangular cut-outs. Hole diameters are available in sizes ranging from 1/8" to 5".
- Plate Groove
- A plate groove is a machined groove near the edge of a glass sheet for the purpose of standing a plate up on end. A plate groove is usually found on glass shelves 1/4" or thicker in china cabinets.
